Byzantine outfit for K&K's Coronation on March 1, 2014

I made the black tunic somewhere around 20yrs ago.  It was my secondary outfit for my second Investiture as Princess.  The gold trim on the sleeves and the top/bottom of base was given to me by a lady whose step-mother bought it for her in Istanbul.  So, of course, it had to used as Byzantine.

Since I had time and a greater skill level than 20 years ago, I thought I'd try to bling it out.

Other than a few hidden, inside seams, everything is done by hand, including the bezeled cabochons

At some point during the day, we will be without Monarchs and I will not be wearing my Coronet.  Since I don't want to poke holes in my gorgeous silk veil, I made a Toque.

Front and back views of the collar and belt.    I used 10 strands of pearls on the collar; the fabric is some left over from my French Renn sleeves, lined with cream silk and embellished with gold and turquoise cultured pearls and black stones.
White linen undertunic was made 3 years ago and has seen a LOT of use, as evidenced by the color of the hem.

There are 20 hand-made cabochons on the outer dress, as well as the same type of gold and turquoise/teal pearls noted above
